Emad Barsoum is the winner of “Coolness and Equanimity under Duress” award at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, making him the quintessential Oral Board candidate and examiner. Dr. Barsoum completed his residency in Cook County Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in pain medicine at Cook County, where he currently practices general anesthesia as well as chronic and acute pain medicine.
Dr. Barsoum is an avid academic instructor and presenter. He has given numerous presentations on topics including pharmacology, physiology, sepsis, intracranial aneurysms, sickle cell anemia, neurophysiology, pain pathways, pain management in trauma, and nerve blocks. His volunteer work includes time dedicated to handicapped children and underserved patients. Dr. Barsoum has been recognized for his excellence in delivering quality hospital service and patient care.
Among all our examiners, he is the only one who has played as a professional table tennis champion, winning several national and international awards.
